Pamela Taylor Turner

Pamela Taylor Turner is an animation artist and historian. Her animation considers little things that are often over-looked, and employs a variety of media, from digital to hand-drawn.  Her animations have screened nationally and internationally. She has presented at numerous conferences, including Siggraph, presenting the opening lecture for Siggraph’s Visual Music Day in their 2009 Computer Animation Festival.
She is the official biographer of the late Adam Beckett, an animator in the mid-1970s whose independent work influenced a generation of animators and whose innovative process led to his role as head of animation of the first Star Wars movie.
Pamela currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Society for Animation Studies and is a member of the iotaCenter Board of Directors. She is Chair of the Kinetic Imaging department at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she also teaches animation and new media art.
